MADE WITH UNREAL ENGINE

RIM OF THE WORLD - PITCHVIS SHORT FILM

RIM OF THE WORLD

Rim of the World was my first Unreal Engine project. The goal was to visually recreate the opening sequence of my TV pilot script of the same name. It was an incredibly satisfying process to see my world come to life exactly as I had imagined it on the page. My background in cinematography, directing, and editing (and playing lots of video games) allowed me to quickly and easily jump into Unreal Engine and create a short film with little to no background in 3D visualization software. This short film now functions as a PitchVis companion piece to my script.

THE VOLCANO

THE VOLCANO

The Volcano is a short film I created for a Virtual Production class at Gnomon to test out modern tools such as Rokoko Studio free MoCap, Livelink ARkit face capture, virtual cameras to record digital actors, animation retargeting, and digital puppeteering using a PS4 controller. This film was made with almost entirely free assets from the Epic Marketplace, Quixel Megascans, Polyhaven, and Mixamo (I spent $5 on Easy Fog, which was the only cost for the project). All motion capture, face capture, and virtual camera work was performed by me in my office while my dog looked on in confusion.
